Service Project
Thank you for your contributions to our 2024 Service Project! Together, we raised $2,250 for Elyssa’s Mission®.
Each year The NCFL partners with our local host to find a way to give back to the community that is welcoming us into their city for the Grand National Tournament. With thousands of tournament attendees each year, we have found that when we come together to do something to assist the local communities that welcome us, we can make a significant impact on people in need.
Our Chicago hosts have identified Elyssa’s Mission® for this year's Service Project. Through contributions both big and small, we hope that all of our attendees will consider raising funds to support this fantastic organization and embrace our motto of "leadership through speech".
This community-based organization was founded in 2006 in honor of Elyssa, a bright, gifted and outgoing Chicagoland girl who bravely battled post-traumatic stress disorder and depression. Elyssa’s Mission® provides hands-on support to area public and private schools in order to educate students, staff, parents and guardians on how to recognize and assist those teens most at-risk. They have helped educate over one million students, staff and parents since inception.
Elyssa’s Mission® funds and implements the evidence-based SOS Signs of Suicide Program in over 300 middle and high schools throughout Illinois and beyond. Your contribution will help invest in the life-changing programs so urgently needed in the prevention of teen suicide. All money raised will help expand their outreach by bringing their highly effective teen suicide prevention programs and resources to new schools, raising public awareness and reducing the stigma associated with mental illness and suicide. Thank you for your support!
